a light dies out
the flaming stars withhold
a sun is dying
we are within the fold
between doom and idealization
between ascension to stars
and the descent to an icy storm
again we are enlightened
for another idea has struck
between salvation and insanity
within life and death
the sun is dying
we are leaving for all eternity
the home we know so well
our last hope of preservation
abated many years ago
we are the last to live on earth
we are the first to abandon it
we knew it was temporary
death was but contemporary
until now
we are but the crews of a fleet among the darkness in the stars
we are but a transcendence of humanity
stretched to near eternity
we have gone

The imagery that describes Gaia(mother earth) inevitable is breathtaking. Repetition of "the sun is dying" certainly made an impact on me as the reader. From this simple phrase, I interpret it as hope and faith dwindling for humanity, dieing with our self-destruction.
Near the end, I perceive that remnants of us has "transcended" into something else, leaving the desolate world behind...perhaps resembling death, and passing on.
Again, nice job*pats on back*

Again, I continue you to say I love how this one was written. It's beautifully constructed with a frightening meaning. However, I'm honest when I say that I don't fear it. Rather, I would welcome it when the my hourglass is up.

haha Government is needed either way. It rules us because the majority allows it.
